The Artists

Black CassidyBlack Cassidy
Works: Space Cat, Interior Mural, Tributes to David Bowie & Gene Wilder
Black Cassidy is a visual artist based out of Houston, TX. Black’s style is extremely versatile. Working as both a muralist and a commissioned artist, he uses a wide variety of mediums and surfaces to paint and draw on. When asked if he has a preference in styles, he responds – “I don’t really have one, I love working in many different styles, I love working outdoors and I love the whole process of driving to a location to paint a wall and talking to a person from the community walking or driving by. Then, sometimes i just like being in the studio working alone in peace and quiet, there’s something to learn in every atmosphere if you’re open to it.”

As Co-Founder of Houston’s own Free Art Fridays and HTX Ground Control, Black stays pretty busy. Aside from working on new works for upcoming shows, he can also be found coordinating events for the art community and helping to provide a platform for artists to not only get their work more exposure but to get artists paid as well. You can follow Black on FB at Black Cassidy Art or on IG @ohnohedint and @HTXGroundControl.
