For over half a decade, Station Theater has offered Houston's best long-form improv training. We have trained hundreds of students, many of whom regularly perform at Station Theater or in mainstage improv shows across the country.
Station Theater's curriculum, while influenced by historic improv hubs (NYC, CHI, LA), is an original methodology that is all our own. It is deeply connected to Houston's vibrant theater and arts community. Station Theater's classes are as applicable to aspiring comedic actors as they are to people looking to have some laughs and make some friends.
All of Station’s classes include FREE standing-room-only access to regular Friday & Saturday improv & sketch comedy shows at Station Theater. Some shows may be blacked out due to limited availability.

Jump into the world of long form improv with this fun and supportive introductory class!
In this nine-week class, you will learn the core principles of long form improv while building confidence, creativity, and collaboration skills. Our instructors will help you quiet your inner critic so you can think on your feet, embrace the unexpected, and most importantly have fun!
Whether you want to perform, sharpen public speaking, step outside your comfort zone, or just meet great people, this class is for you!
No experience necessary. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to play!

Build stronger and more confident scenes in this eight-week Level 2 class. Learn to initiate with purpose, recognize the Game of the scene, and create bold comedic contrast. Gain clarity supporting partners and making what is funny land with the audience.
LEVEL 3: DEVICES, CUSTOMS, AND CONVENTIONS

Take your long form skills to the next level in this eight-week Level 3 class. Learn dynamic editing, ensemble storytelling, and advanced stagecraft. Build confidence shaping scenes in real time and guiding polished long form sets with strong group awareness.
LEVEL 4: SURVEY OF FORMS

Deepen your long form skills in this eight-week Level 4 class. Learn and practice a variety of long form formats while exploring advanced structure, storytelling, and ensemble flow. Build confidence tracking patterns, sustaining characters, and guiding full long form sets with clarity and control.
LEVEL 5: FINDING YOUR VOICE

Refine your personal improv skills and deepen your ensemble connection in this eight-week Level 5 class. Build confidence in advanced scene work, strengthen your unique performance voice, and practice cohesive long form storytelling. Students also learn the basics of hosting and running show tech for a complete performance experience.
