SATURDAY, 6/28

6:30 PM - IMPROV

Saturday Blast-Off Pride Improv Matinee with DISCORD & RHYME MUSICAL IMPROV and dam(ned)sels

Get ready for an epic night of comedy! Join us at 6:30 pm for a long-form improv show featuring three amazing troupes. Watch as they create hilarious scenes on the spot with no scripts, no plans—just pure improvisation!

  • DISCORD & RHYME MUSICAL IMPROV: So many stories can be found within the walls of a building. A grocery store. A skating rink. A 36-floor skyscraper. Discord & Rhyme takes a suggestion of a location and explores the many characters and relationships you might find within - as an improvised musical. CAST: Jessica Brown, Jesse Garson, Sam Hernandez

  • DAM(NED)SELS: Do you love women? Do you love women being messy? Do you love the multitude of complicated relationships that exist in the femmeverse? Well then do we have the show for you! Come see these four create, solve and completely disregard all kinds of hilarious drama! CAST: Jane Reynolds, Stephanie Marzuola, Fernanda Frers and Lily Sethre-Brink

8:00 PM - Improv

PRIDE Supernova: storytelling + improv
with preston street & dearly beloved

Featuring Guest Storyteller Eric Tung - Polyamorous Genderqueer Derby Girl & Digital Marketer

The Supernova is Station Theater's signature improv form and Houston's longest-running long-form improv show. The Supernova cast invites a special guest to tell true, personal stories in a one-on-one interview format. Stories and discussions are molded and reshaped into original, improvised content. June's PRIDE month shows feature a stellar LGBTQIA+ cast!

SUPERNOVA STORYTELLER:
Eric Tung (They/Them) - Polyamorous Genderqueer Derby Girl & Digital Marketer
Follow Eric:
Polyamorous. Genderqueer. Derby skater. Digital marketer. Eric has run social media for Houston’s dullest industries—but they’re anything but boring. A native Houstonian who still can’t stand the humidity, Eric smokes a mean brisket and body-checks friends for fun. Their sharp wit and online presence have earned them followers like Barack Obama, Britney Spears, and Gordon Ramsay… and maybe you next. Whether on skates or socials, Eric brings energy, insight, and a flair for the unexpected.

IMPROV TROUPES:

  • SUPERNOVA CAST: Ann Hurrington (She/Her), Austin Faulk (He/Him), Darnell Bortz (He/Him), Erin Bo (She/They), Jack Keller (He/Him), Jesse Garson (He/They), Leon Yuan (He/Him), Lily Sethre-Brink (She/They), Luci Melcher (She/Her), Sam Hernandez (She/Her), Sarah Petty (She/Her)

  • PRESTON STREET: We’re not just bending the rules, we’re rewriting the book.  Strap in tight because Preston Street will steer you on a comedic ride through time, space, and Memory Lane. CAST: Quinn Doran, Courtney Fleming, Brian Kondrach, Mallory Barras, Sean Penalber, Lucio Vasquez, Brad Andersen

  • DEARLY BELOVED: "Lily fought a train and won, and all she got was this concussion and an idea for a new improv show.” One dead and five miscellaneous connections. Join us in celebrating the life of our dearly beloved, (whoever dies this set). CAST: Jane Reynolds, Hannah Estes, Dru Sanders, Aiden Garcia, Tony Carnevale, Fernanda Frers, Lily Sethre-Brink

9:30 PM - VARIETY

Unclutch Those Pearls, Honey!
A Defiant LGBTQIA+ Talent and Community Showcase

Loosen your grip on society’s plain white pearls – join us for a lustrous LGBTQIA+ variety show that blends sketch comedy, musical performance, improv, and more into a colorful celebration of queer joy and brilliance. We’ve brought together some of Houston’s queerest talent (plus allies who left their pearls at the door) to create a comedic experience worth holding close to your heart.

This show will also feature a panel segment called “Pearls of Queerdom: Bits of Wisdom and Humor from Houston’s LGBTQIA+ Community,” featuring local queer leaders and stewards who represent unique resources and services in our city. You’ll be able to ask the panelists questions, and you’ll even leave with an info-filled goody bag at the end!

And if you still feel the need to clutch something after all that, you’re in luck!

**************

We’re proud to support Tony’s Place, an organization dedicated to empowering and supporting LGBTQ+ youth. A portion of the proceeds from our 9:30 PM show will go toward their mission—plus, we’ll be selling PRIDE flags and bracelets, with 100% of those sales benefiting Tony’s Place. Want to give more? We’ll also be accepting additional donations, every dollar of which will go directly to the cause.

Come enjoy some scandalous humor and help us reach our goal of raising more than $750 for Tony’s Place!
